If like us, you like a bit of rock and roll and design. This may be a design submission for you. 

Secret 7 is an annual event where artists / designers submit their designs for a 7 inch vinyl record cover based on a list of chosen music. For this year, the music includes :

  • "Let Forever Be" - Chemical Brothers
  • "Reflections" - Diana Ross & the Supremes
  • "GO" - The Maccabees
  • "Sledge Hammer" - Peter Gabriel
  • "Dead Flowers" - The Rolling Stones
  • "Digital Witness" - St. Vincent
  • "Born Slippy (Nuxx)" - Underworld

On the Secret 7 website http://www.secret-7,com , a list of submission guidelines will be provided and all you need to do is to set up your art template to match what is required. 

Yay! We have our vinyl cover, designed and submitted. 

Unfortunately, this is a secret mission. We have sworn in secrecy to not reveal our design and which music we have designed for.  Hush hush. However, we have created an animated gif to celebrate this fun design event, and especially the good cause for Nordoff Robbins.

The exhibition for the Secret 7 will be held at Somerset House on the 10th April - 3rd May 2015 exhibiting the chosen 700 covers. Sale day of the covers will be on 4th May 2015. Can't wait.

London Travel : Weekend Guide : Let our Underground Pencils Guide You

As part our product descriptions, we include a section called "Designer's Random Facts" to detail our inspiration / reason behind our creations.

Traveling is one our favourite past times, (especially via public transport). For our London Underground Pencils, we have picked 6 of our most frequented London Underground stations. Based on the London Tube map concept, we have created an animated gif to showcase some of our favourite hangouts in London, easily accessible for tube, especially for an unplanned weekend.

  • Columbia Flower Market on Sunday  - ( Orange Overground Line ) 
  • Camden Town Canal Walk to Little Venice - ( Black Northern Line )
  • Visit the Shard - ( Silver Jubilee Line / Black Northern Line ) 
  • Head to Smack Deli for a Lobster Roll - ( Red Central Line / Silver Jubilee Line ) 
  • Refill at Poîlane for a coffee + a tartine - ( Yellow / Green Circle and District Line  ) 
  • Cartoon Museum for some comic love - ( Blue Piccadilly / Red Central Line )

P.S. Mind the foiling. Our pencils have the colour of the tube lines and the colour of the interchanges all covered.

I AM A Stationery Gift Store Old Street Pop Up Store : London Underground Invite

3 weeks to go to the launch of our Pop Up store at Old Street. It's our first time running a pop up store, ( yes ... and definitely getting the heebie jeebies ) to showcase I AM A.

Yay, the invites!  We have designed both a digital format of the invite ( yes! with animation of course ) and a hard copy post card size invite.

We will be in Old Street Underground station, and a lover of the London Underground who loves to commute on it. We took inspiration from the London Underground tube map and made our invite out of it. The digital animated version is a travelling one ( woohoo ! ) - he he with a pink smiley circle dot traveling around the tube lines ! Secretly, if there were a tube line for I AM A... ( we do day dream big )  it will surely be a stripy Neon Pink line called "Smiley Express" and the stop for our store will be Smileville.

Mushylicious - Delicious Mushrooms

Mushylicious. We have created a new adjective to describe delicious mushrooms. Mushrooms can be so delicious even Mulan, our resident mushroom agrees to it, shakes her hip and boogie woogies to her own yumminess! Yum! 

We trust the dictionary officials over at Oxford Dictionary will add Mushylicious into the dictionary one day.
